This past year, I got the chance to travel throughout Minnesota and represent Fresh Energy at several events. Come along with me to relive the fun!

The first event I attended was EarthFest Expo in Rochester, hosted at the beautiful Cascade Meadow Wetlands & Environmental Science Center. This high-energy event featured live music, an electric transportation showcase, and a ton of eco-focused workshops, all of which were free to attend! Surrounded by wetland habitat, I enjoyed the day chatting with folks and learning about the city’s sustainability efforts. Did you know Rochester plans to fully decarbonize by 2050? Learn more about their sustainability efforts here.

My next stop this year was close to home in Saint Paul at Eco Fair on Summit. I had a lovely time tabling with fellow Freshie, Katie Maxwell, and we enjoyed a sunny spring day in the Summit Hill neighborhood. My favorite part of this event was BABY GOATS. These cutie pies are natural weed preventors, thus earning their spot at the Eco Fair. You heard it here first folks, every sustainability event should have baby goats!
For the finale of tabling season my fellow Freshie and friend, Ethan Culver participated in what I’d like to call “Christine and Ethan’s Back-to-back Tabling Spectacular!” This weekend consisted of a new tabling event for Fresh Energy, the Duluth Harvest Festival on Saturday and the Saint Paul Bike Classic on Sunday. Since the Duluth Harvest Festival was a full- day affair, we drove up to Duluth the night before and enjoyed an evening walk by Lake Superior. The next morning we got up bright and early to table at the Duluth Harvest Fest hosted by the Sustainable Farming Association. This dynamic event included a farmers market, craft fair, energy fair (that’s where we were!) and so much more! Energy Plinko (learn more about out our Plinko game here) was a total hit, and we loved talking with folks of all ages about Fresh Energy’s work.

12 hours later we arrived at our final tabling event, the Saint Paul Bike Classic. Over 2,000 bikers tour around the capital city and finish their ride at the Como Pavilion. We had a lovely time enjoying the sunny weather, listening to live music, and talking with bikers from all over the metro area.

Last but not least I have to plug Fresh Energy’s events! Did you know that we host multiple in-person events throughout the year? This past year I tabled at our pre- and post-session event Lagers and Legislation and at our annual Benefit Breakfast! Make sure to sign up for our emails so you can be the first to know about our upcoming events.
