Risikat Adesaogun

Risikat Adesaogun is the Press Secretary and Deputy Communications Director for Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon. She specializes in media relations and strives to ensure every eligible Minnesota voter has the information they need to make their voice heard at the polls. 

Risikat previously worked to convey environmental information to communities, resolve controversial issues, and influence legislation at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Her environmental work also traveled beyond Minnesota’s borders, with a brief stint in Washington, D.C., at the Environmental Council of the States (ECOS). Risikat’s chief mission there was to provide strategic communications counsel to ECOS’ team. At her core, Risikat is passionate about demystifying complex processes and making information accessible to people where they are.

Kristel Porter

Kristel Porter is the Executive Director of MN Renewable Now and was formerly the Executive Director of Cleveland Neighborhood Association. She has started different environmentally focused initiatives such as; Clean City Youth, which taught youth about waste and how to take care of the environment as well as Cycle Sisters, which is a program that hosts regular group bike rides for BIPOC women. Kristel was one of the founders of United Black Legislative Agenda, which was instrumental in the passing of the Urban Ag Bill. In 2020 Kristel planted over 300 trees and worked with the Family of Trees to plant over 1500 white spruces, red maples, and river birches. This initiative is to help mitigate the CO2 in North Minneapolis which also addresses the heat Island Effect.

Erika Bailey-Johnson

Erika Bailey-Johnson is starting her thirteenth year as the first Sustainability Director at Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota. She was also appointed the Coordinator of the People and the Environment academic program in 2016. She works in the Ganawendakamigaawigamig (Office of Earth-Caretaking or Sustainability Office). She completed her BA in Biology from the University of Minnesota, Morris in 1998 and her Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from BSU in 2006. Her background is in science teaching, and Erika and her husband taught for two years in Mexico and three years in Kuwait before returning home to Northern Minnesota.

Angelica Imhoede

Angelica Imhoede is a native of the Twin Cities that has spent over a decade in the Risk Management industry. Her experience lies in Compliance, Corporate Risk, Internal Audit and Financial Services. She currently works for Wells Fargo as an Audit Project Manager on the Corporate Risk team. Prior to joining Wells in early 2019, Angelica worked in consulting for almost 4 years specializing in the finance service industry. Her clients included banks, insurance companies, FinTech and brokerage firms.

Angelica currently resides in New Hope, Minnesota with her husband and son.
