Fresh Energy’s third annual Benefit Breakfast was a fantastic success! We were absolutely thrilled with the great turn-out at this October 3, 2018 event, with over 550 guests in attendance. Spirits were high, the crowd motivated, and everyone enthusiastic to advance clean energy policies in Minnesota.
Minnesota is paving the way as a regional leader in renewable energy, sentiments reflected widely during the breakfast. Michael Noble, executive director, emphasized that our state is truly a leader here in the Bold North, and we couldn’t agree more. “If we can come together as Minnesotans,” he remarked, “we could have sixty percent wind and solar by 2030 for all Minnesotan utilities.” Fresh Energy is all-in!
Michael’s speech followed our featured speaker, Mary Nichols, the chairwoman of the California Air Resources Board. Chair Nichols has led pioneering air quality initiatives in her state, and she inspired the room to develop programs that fight climate damage and protect public health in our region. She also highlighted her efforts to enact a dramatic shift to zero emission transportation in California. Chair Nichols warmly welcomed Minnesota advocates, like Fresh Energy, to join “the healthy competition” in moving forward clean energy policies and vehicles nationwide.
Thanks to our generous sponsors and donors, we raised $304,737! This is a huge increase from the $205,390 raised at last year’s event and much higher than the goal we had originally set. We deeply appreciate the table captains, speakers, and volunteers who brought everyone together, fired up the crowd, and ensured that the event went smoothly. Our success is yours! If you weren’t able to attend, you can still make a gift. Every dollar amount makes a difference!
At the Benefit Breakfast, Fresh Energy premiered a special video about our work to drive and shape policies that pave the way for a clean energy future in our state. Watch below.
