Nick is a Senior Policy Associate, Electric Vehicles, and joined the Fresh Energy team in the fall of 2024 to lead our electric vehicle advocacy within the regulatory and utility space. Through his work on the Transportation team, Nick is helping Fresh Energy map what kind of electric vehicle and charging policies need to come next in Minnesota to help reach our state and international climate goals quickly, affordably, and equitably. Nick brings a wealth of experience and a passion for climate policy, and he’s excited to advocate for a cleaner future in his home state of Minnesota.
Nick studied Economics, German and Global Development Studies at Grinnell College in Iowa and then moved to Washington, D.C., to work at the Treasury Department’s Office of International Development Policy where he focused on climate change mitigation issues, including financing for electric mobility infrastructure. Currently, Nick is pursuing a public policy degree at the University of Chicago.
Outside of work, Nick enjoys camping, board games, cooking, and exploring cities – especially bookstores and coffee shops. Although a Minnesotan through and through, Nick is secretly also an Australian citizen through his mother’s side and enjoys exploring and learning about the world through reading and travel.
