Fresh Energy is celebrating the 30th Anniversary of our incorporation in 1992. It’s a time to look back on our progress using policy advocacy to move Minnesota and the Midwest toward a just, carbon-neutral economy. With the urgency of climate change so clear today, it is also a time to look forward and commit to moving farther faster and ensure that everyone benefits from the transition to a society powered by climate-friendly energy.
Don’t miss out on the festivities! Over the course of the year, we’ll have many opportunities for you to join in commemorating thirty years of clean energy progress.
Special anniversary podcast episodes
We will be hosting some conversations with Fresh Energy board and staff leaders—as well as guests—reflecting on three decades of Fresh Energy history and looking ahead to what comes next. Subscribe to Decarbonize: The Clean Energy Podcast on your favorite podcasting app or stream it on our website.
Team spotlights
From a volunteer team in 1992 to more than 30 on staff in 2022, Fresh Energy has grown to meet the challenge of addressing climate change at scale. Who are the people at work for your clean energy future? This year, we are shining the spotlight on our teams that make energy and climate policy happen in Minnesota. So far, we’ve profiled the Clean Electricity and Public Affairs teams with more coming soon.
Supporter stories
Donations from individuals, foundations, and other institutions make our work possible. We love to tell the stories of Fresh Energy donors and what motivates them to support Fresh Energy. This year we will be amping it up with even more donor profiles in our Powering Progress e-newsletter, Energy Matters printed newsletter, and on the blog. Reach out if you would like to tell your story!
Art launch and exhibit
At the heart of Fresh Energy’s work has always been our vision for a future in which we can all thrive. To honor this 30-year vision, Fresh Energy commissioned Rochester, Minnesota, artist Amarilys Henderson to create watercolor paintings for our new office on the third floor of Saint Paul’s Hamm Building. We plan to reveal these new works of art and introduce Amarilys through an online exhibit and opportunities to see the art in person!
We will be experimenting with more in-person events this year as well as hosting a popular return to our summer webinar series and virtual Benefit Breakfast, our signature fundraising event, in October. Watch out for a few more surprises in the coming months including a new campaign to help people put their best foot forward on climate.
We can’t wait to see you virtually and in person this year! In the meantime, we invite you to plug in to Fresh Energy by:
