Brandon is Fresh Energy’s Managing Director, Industry and joined the team in 2025. Through forward-thinking policy development and strategic partnerships, Brandon leads Fresh Energy’s work to decarbonize heavy industry and agriculture in Minnesota, which can lead to growing jobs and economic development opportunities in every corner of the state.
Brandon graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Earth Sciences-Geology. With 13 years of experience in the geologic services sector, Brandon brings a unique perspective that bridges traditional industries and the emerging clean energy economy. His diverse project background includes working with both mining operations and renewable energy infrastructure, giving him firsthand insight and experience into the challenges and opportunities of equitably transitioning to a carbon-free economy.
Prior to joining Fresh Energy, Brandon was president of a geologic services consulting firm where he developed expertise in environmental permitting for mineral exploration and mining operations, site characterization for wind energy and transmission projects, and geotechnical work for innovative energy storage solutions like pumped hydro. His experience with federal and local permitting processes and commitment to environmental stewardship position him well to advance Minnesota’s transition to a clean heavy industry sector.
When Brandon isn’t focused on industrial decarbonization, he enjoys outdoor activities including sailing, fishing, and camping, whether up north in the Boundary Waters or at the lake in his hometown of Mankato.
