Allen Gleckner guides Fresh Energy’s programmatic work and in his role as executive lead, policy and programs, he ensures Fresh Energy sets and meets ambitious goals across all programmatic work. He also leads Fresh Energy’s strategic imperative to dramatically reduce carbon emissions from the electric sector by increasing deployment of wind, solar, storage, and other carbon-free electricity strategies, phasing out coal and fossil gas, and securing the grid infrastructure needed for a carbon-neutral future.
As a technical policy expert, Allen identifies and leads the Clean Electricity team’s work on key dockets at the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission and participation in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s stakeholder process. He oversees participation and expert testimony by Fresh Energy staff and consultants as well as providing technical support for partners and coalitions. Allen is a state and regional expert on clean energy in the electric system, transmission planning and wholesale electricity markets, utility business models, and other issues. Beyond the electric sector, Allen steers Fresh Energy’s overall approach to achieving our mission and vision through regulatory action.
