Jo is Fresh Energy’s chief communications officer and joined our team in 2019. She sets the strategy and leads public communications and engagement efforts around Fresh Energy’s clean energy programs, policies, and initiatives. Through her work, Jo helps Minnesotans connect the dots between energy policy and their daily lives, helping to strengthen the public resolve for change. Jo is also a member of Fresh Energy’s Executive Leadership Team helping to steer the organization’s management and budget.
Jo has been involved in nonprofit communications, branding, and public relations for nearly two decades, most recently having served as the Communications Director at the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota. Jo has a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Public Relations from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. Having spent more than half her life in southwest and far northern Minnesota, Jo is a rural Minnesotan at heart.
