Fresh Energy statement on new tariffs on imported solar panels

By |

Yesterday, the White House announced new tariffs of 30 percent on imported solar panels. Fresh Energy executive director Michael Noble released the following statement in response.

“A penalty on solar panels puts an unnecessary burden on the businesses that are growing energy jobs across Minnesota. It amounts to a new tax on solar panels. Despite senseless attacks on energy markets by the federal government, solar will continue to grow in Minnesota—particularly as Fresh Energy works to reduce soft costs and remove red tape through strong state level policies. We remain committed to pursuing cost-effective clean energy that can provide savings and emissions reductions in our communities.”

We are in unprecedented times for climate progress.
