Eco Experience 2022, Minnesota State Fair

The Eco Experience center at the Minnesota State Fair is the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency’s (MPCA) annual, premier outreach opportunity filled with hands-on activities, demonstrations, and resources during the 12 days of the Minnesota State Fair. Learn from the experts about what you can do to help improve our air, land, water, and climate!
- Climate: From testing out e-bikes and other climate-friendly transportation, to connecting directly with Minnesota electric vehicle (EV) owners, to playing Eco Bingo, learn about all that we can do at the state level, as Minnesotans, to slow climate change, adapt to our new climate, and improve Minnesota’s communities.
- Air: MPCA’s “Green Garage” will display environmentally-friendly choices for items kept in the garage, focusing on solar and battery-powered appliances to reduce harmful air emissions.
- Land: From recycling to the gas it takes to power our delivery trucks, learn about all of the opportunities MPCA has to transition our economy off of fossil gas and onto electric and cleaner innovative fuel technologies.
- Water: The City of Virginia’s 20-foot, floating loon has been a Minnesota roadside attraction for 40 years. It’s the world’s largest floating loon, and, this year, it’s making a special visit to the Eco Experience tent! Learn about water clarity, fish and insects, the impact of road salts, and more.
