Meet the Midwest Energy News’ 2018 40 Under 40 honorees

By |

The Energy News Network operates as an editorially independent news and information site published by Fresh Energy. Launched in 2010 as Midwest Energy News, the Energy News Network offers four regional services. Southeast Energy News began in 2015, and Northeast and Western Energy News were added in 2018.

Every year, Midwest Energy News highlights 40 emerging leaders under the age of 40 who demonstrate their passion for and commitment to the advancement of clean energy in the Midwest region. This year marked the 4th annual cohort of honorees.

After receiving 198 nominations from ten Midwestern states, an internal team reviewed submissions and chose the 40 emerging leaders whose significant professional accomplishments served key roles in America’s transition to a clean energy economy. The internal team included Martina Holmes, partnership coordinator, Rob Davis, director of the Center for Pollinators in Energy, and Ken Paulman, director of the Energy News Network.

The 2018 recipients, past 40 Under 40 honorees, and guests convened Monday, September 17 at Coalition: Energy—overlooking Chicago’s Millennium Park for an honorees’ reception. We celebrated the recipients and heard an intriguing dialogue session from Fresh Energy’s executive director Michael Noble and guest speaker Katherine Hamilton, chair of 38 North Solutions. Michael and Katherine highlighted exciting energy storage advancements, smart grids, and updates from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. It was a wonderful evening celebrating the accomplishments of 40 bright and hardworking leaders. Congratulations to all the recipients!
