Fresh Energy’s team continues to drive bold, equitable solutions to the climate crisis to achieve a clean energy future that works for all who call Minnesota home. We’re thrilled to be bringing on a new team member! Join us in welcoming and getting to know Rachel Wiedewitsch.
As a senior policy associate on the Clean Electricity team, Rachel will support and lead advocacy on a portfolio of work related to decarbonizing Minnesota’s electricity sector. Her work will help to shape clean energy policy and implementation, particularly through advocacy at the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission.
Rachel, originally from Milaca, Minnesota, returns to the Land of 10,000 Lakes from her most recent role on the Regulatory Analysis Team at the Iowa Utilities Board where she focused on federal regulation, the regional electricity market, rate cases, and reviewed large renewable energy projects for advanced rate making. With a bachelor’s degree in Energy and Sustainability Policy from Penn State and a master’s degree in Energy Regulation and Law from Vermont Law, Rachel has hit the ground running at Fresh Energy.
Rachel and her husband are thrilled to be back in their home state and already have plans for hiking Minnesota’s many parks, trails, and natural spaces. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys cooking and baking new dishes, thrifting, and spending time outside with her dogs.
Fresh Energy’s staff are the most important asset when it comes to achieving our ambitious decarbonization goals. We’re expanding our organizational capacity so that we can meet this crucial moment and continue building an equitable and just clean energy and climate movement in Minnesota and across the Midwest. Stay tuned for updates from Rachel!
