In her role as session associate, Public Affairs, Laura Wagner supports Fresh Energy’s policy priorities through the Minnesota legislative session to advance action that contributes to achieving carbon-neutral economies by mid-century in Minnesota.
Laura came to Fresh Energy in 2024 after graduating from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs with a Master of Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy. Prior to joining Fresh Energy, Laura was an intern at the Metropolitan Council where she focused on climate adaptation projects. She also worked with the Minnesota Environmental Partnership during the 2023 legislative session, which sparked her passion for environmental advocacy. Laura is excited to kick off her career in the environmental policy field at Fresh Energy.
Laura has a background in environmental field research, including butterfly rearing, beekeeping, and aquatic invasive species. She is a Minnesota native and is passionate about protecting the health and longevity of the state’s ecosystems. Outside of work, she enjoys going for nature walks, cooking and baking, rollerblading or ice skating, depending on the season, and spending time with friends and family.
