Isak Kvam

Isak is Fresh Energy’s Director, Communications helping to educate and inspire Minnesotans to build an equitable carbon-free future.
 
Isak has spent over 10 years writing about energy and the environment. He shared the benefits of clean energy to rural Minnesota as a Communications & Policy Associate at Clean Grid Alliance. As a freelance writer and editor, he wrote about national environmental policy and the outdoors for Outside and Backpacker. He graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa with majors in Biology and Environmental Studies, focusing on ecology and geology. 
 
Isak grew up on a farm in southwestern Minnesota and now lives near Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge. When he’s not writing, he’s probably reading, birding in the refuge, or planning his next road trip.
