Tell the Governor you support Sustainable Aviation Fuel

Your message today can help clear the air our children will breathe tomorrow.

We fly for good reasons — to see loved ones, do our jobs, and experience the world.

But we know that with every takeoff, fossil fuel-powered planes pollute the air we depend on.

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is our chance to reduce pollution from air travel without grounding our travel plans.

One minute of your time today can help fuel decades of progress for cleaner air, healthier communities, and a stronger economy.

Send a message to Governor Walz: It’s time to bring cleaner fuel to Minnesota’s skies.

What Is Sustainable Aviation Fuel?

SAF is an innovative, low-carbon alternative to traditional jet fuel. It could be produced right here in Minnesota from renewable sources — like locally-grown camelina, soybeans, and pennycress, or green hydrogen made with wind and solar energy.

SAF works just like traditional jet fuel. It can be used in today’s airplanes.

Unlike traditional jet fuel, which is derived entirely from fossil fuels, SAF can be produced from a variety of sources — like renewable electricity, waste materials, or bio-based regenerative agriculture products like camelina — resulting in significantly-reduced lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions.

Why Support SAF in Minnesota?

Air travel is a major source of greenhouse gases and air pollution.

But unlike cars or buses, most planes can’t simply switch to batteries due to their weight.

This means we need cleaner fuel. That’s where Sustainable Aviation Fuel comes in — it’s a promising tool in our toolkit for reducing aviation emissions.

But SAF isn’t just about cleaner skies. It’s also a powerful opportunity for Minnesota. By investing in SAF, we can support local farmers, rural economies, regenerative agriculture, and clean energy jobs.

With bipartisan support and strong agricultural and renewable energy resources, Minnesota is uniquely positioned to lead from the North on lower-emission, homegrown SAF.

It’s no surprise that cleaner airplane fuel has bipartisan support in Minnesota — 67% of Americans support prioritizing clean energy like wind, solar, and hydrogen over fossil fuels.

Minnesotans agree: the time to lead is now.

How You Can Help

Sustainable Aviation Fuel can cut emissions and create jobs right here in Minnesota — but not all SAF is created equal.

Strong policies must prioritize climate-friendly SAF and maximize economic benefits.

We need your help!

If you live in Minnesota, tell Governor Walz that you support a strong, innovative SAF industry in Minnesota.

There’s bipartisan support for creating a low-carbon SAF marketplace in Minnesota, and the Governor needs to hear from you to get this right.

Tell Governor Walz that Minnesota should lead on clean aviation by ensuring legislation supports truly clean and low-carbon SAF, smart use of green hydrogen, and meaningful opportunities that benefit every corner of our state.
