Fresh Energy Executive Director Michael Noble issued the following statement:
“Fresh Energy unequivocally condemns the January 6, 2021, attack on the United States Capitol. Our democratic institutions cannot and will not allow threats of violence and intimidation to disrupt the will of the American people and the peaceful transition of power that is the hallmark of a free and open society.
As an organization founded on the principle of serving the public interest, Fresh Energy depends on public institutions that are open, accessible, stable, and accountable. As we pursue our mission to achieve equitable carbon neutral economies, we remain vigilant against all threats to the future vitality of representative government here in Minnesota and beyond, whether from malevolent disinformation campaigns that seek to undermine, threatened or actual political violence that attempts to intimidate, or systemic and institutional racism that continues to oppress.
Our thoughts are with the public staff and elected officials affected by this violent attack, and with the families of those whose lives were lost.”
