Mari brings her passion for climate justice and collaboration to the Energy Access and Equity team where she works to advance policy to ensure a just energy transition. Mari joined Fresh Energy in February 2021 after four years in the affordable housing sector. Mari is from the Twin Cities with a degree in Environmental Studies from Hamline University. While serving in AmeriCorps through MN GreenCorps and Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, she cultivated a passion for green building technology and construction. She was a member of the Environmental Justice Advisory Group at the MN Pollution Control Agency, strengthening her connections in the community and dedication to climate justice. Prior to Fresh Energy, Mari worked at TC Habitat as a Project Manager and a member of their Diversity and Inclusion Action Team. During her time at Habitat, she deepened her work in sustainable building technologies and partnerships, affordable housing advocacy, and addressing the issues of equity within these overlapping sectors. Mari recently discovered an enjoyment of kayaking and turtle-watching, along with finding new parks and trails to go hiking.
