SUMMARY:Nonprofit Board Lab 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Nonprofit Board Lab is built on the principle of iron sharpening iron—bringing together nonprofit leaders\, board members\, philanthropic partners\, and corporate board placement professionals for open exchange\, peer dialogue\, and connections that extend across the nonprofit ecosystem. Designed so you walk away with insights and tools to strengthen board governance\, empower leadership\, and operate with strategic flexibility. \n\n\n\nFresh Energy’s CEO\, Margaret Cherne-Hendrick\, is a featured speaker for the Strategic Flexibility Lab Session. In this session speakers will clarify the board’s role in planning\, oversight\, and organizational alignment\, explore strategy in three realms\, developing the plan\, executing the plan and abandoning the plan when strategic pivot is required and explore a range of planning models—from nimble approaches for smaller organizations to structured frameworks for larger institutions—and learn how to choose the right fit based on capacity\, complexity\, and mission need. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn more

SUMMARY:Webinar: Unpacking the budget reconciliation law's impacts on Minnesota’s clean energy future
DESCRIPTION:On July 4\, 2025\, the federal budget reconciliation bill was signed into law\, a move that will have sweeping implications for clean energy and climate progress in the United States. But how will these cuts and changes impact Minnesota’s clean energy future? \n\n\n\nFresh Energy advances policy change focused on equitably decarbonizing five key areas of the economy: electricity\, buildings\, transportation\, heavy industry\, and agriculture. When our team of experts reviewed this new law\, we looked at it through the lens of how it would impact these key areas of organizational focus as we work to achieve our mission of a clean energy economy that benefits all Minnesotans. \n\n\n\nJoin our policy experts on August 6 at 12 p.m. for a discussion about the law’s implications for clean energy — and bring your questions! Half of the agenda will be set aside for an audience Q&A. \n\n\n\nAnd please note\, the current status of many of the programs we’ll discuss is an evolving situation. We will endeavor to share the most up-to-date information possible. A recording of this webinar will be sent to everyone who registers. \n\n\n\nDetails:Wednesday\, August 6\, 12-1 p.m. \n\n\n\n\nRegister here\n\n\n\n\nPresenters: \n\n\n\n\nIsak Kvam (moderator)\, Senior Associate\, Writer and Editor\n\n\n\nAnjali Bains\, Managing Director\, Transportation\n\n\n\nEric Fowler\, Director\, Building Performance\n\n\n\nAllen Gleckner\, Chief Policy Officer\n\n\n\nBrandon Isakson\, Managing Director\, Industry\n\n\n\nJohn Vaughn\, Managing Director\, Community and Economic Development

SUMMARY:Webinar - Updating Minnesota's Climate Action Framework
DESCRIPTION:Minnesota is updating our Climate Action Framework in 2025 to include a more comprehensive set of actions with a stronger focus on collaboration\, community benefits\, and workforce needs. Though we have made progress\, we must accelerate the pace and scale of our climate actions to achieve our long-term vision of a carbon-neutral\, resilient\, and equitable future. \n\n\n\nOn June 30\, state leaders will share draft action steps that will lay the foundation for the 2025 Climate Action Framework. Some of these actions were included in the 2022 framework and expand on work that state agencies are doing. Others are new to the 2025 framework and reflect progress made on our original goals. The draft actions steps document will be open for public comment from June 30 to July 21\, 2025. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a webinar on Monday\, June 30\, 2025\, from 2 to 3 p.m. for an overview of the draft action steps and how you can share your perspective. \n\n\n\n*This meeting was originally scheduled for Monday\, June 16\, 2025. \n\n\n\nJoin the webinar
