SUMMARY:Webinar - Updating Minnesota's Climate Action Framework
DESCRIPTION:Minnesota is updating our Climate Action Framework in 2025 to include a more comprehensive set of actions with a stronger focus on collaboration\, community benefits\, and workforce needs. Though we have made progress\, we must accelerate the pace and scale of our climate actions to achieve our long-term vision of a carbon-neutral\, resilient\, and equitable future. \n\n\n\nOn June 30\, state leaders will share draft action steps that will lay the foundation for the 2025 Climate Action Framework. Some of these actions were included in the 2022 framework and expand on work that state agencies are doing. Others are new to the 2025 framework and reflect progress made on our original goals. The draft actions steps document will be open for public comment from June 30 to July 21\, 2025. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a webinar on Monday\, June 30\, 2025\, from 2 to 3 p.m. for an overview of the draft action steps and how you can share your perspective. \n\n\n\n*This meeting was originally scheduled for Monday\, June 16\, 2025. \n\n\n\nJoin the webinar

SUMMARY:Sustainable Aviation Fuel: How Minnesota can get it right.
DESCRIPTION:Aviation accounts for nearly 10% of greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector in the United States. With emissions from aircrafts on the rise\, federal and state governments are urgently seeking ways to reduce aviation industry emissions through low-carbon fuel pathways that can benefit communities\, mitigate climate impacts\, and drive business development. But what is sustainable aviation fuel and the possibilities (and perils) it can present? \n\n\n\nMinnesota is at an inflection point. The choices made now about our state’s approach to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) will have an impact for decades to come. \n\n\n\nThis webinar is for anyone interested in learning more about the possibilities and perils of SAF\, especially those working within state agencies\, agriculture\, economic development\, advocacy\, and academia. \n\n\n\nDuring the webinar\, we will unpack what SAF is and how it fits into decarbonizing emissions from aviation\, discuss the Minnesota Sustainable Aviation Fuels Guiding Principles created by partner organizations Fresh Energy\, Friends of the Mississippi River\, and The Nature Conservancy\, and explain what could be next for SAF in Minnesota and beyond. \n\n\n\nRegister today and join Fresh Energy\, Friends of the Mississippi River\, and The Nature Conservancy on Thursday\, November 21 at 10 a.m. Central to learn more.

SUMMARY:Webinar: Solar at Osprey Wilds
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, Osprey Wilds\, Soltek\, and East Central Energy collaborated to install a 716-kilowatt solar photovoltaic system at Osprey Wilds’ campus. The project\, the largest of its kind for any nature center in Minnesota\, is a win-win-win for all parties. It creates consistent revenue for Soltek\, supplies East Central Energy with clean\, affordable energy\, and provides Osprey Wilds with zero-emission electricity\, allowing it to achieve its goals of being carbon neutral from an electrical consumption standpoint\, while also providing financial security through affordable energy for the next 30+ years. \n\n\n\nBut how did the vision for powering Osprey Wilds with solar become a reality? Tune into this recording of Fresh Energy’s October 28 webinar to hear from Osprey Wilds’ Executive Director Bryan Wood\, Soltek’s CEO Shawn Markham\, and East Central Energy’s CEO Justin Jahnz about how all three parties came together around this project to help each other achieve their organizations’ goals\, while also helping the planet.
