Xcel Energy’s community solar program is the result of a package of solar energy bills that passed the legislature in 2013.

  • As the policy experts in this growing field, the Fresh Energy team is excited to provide more information regarding the background and details of Xcel Energy’s community solar program.
  • Aeon is spearheading the effort to bring community solar to affordable housing in Minnesota. Gina Ciganik, Vice President of Housing Development for Aeon, will share Aeon’s experience subscribing to a community solar project to power much of their building portfolio.
  • Julie Padilla, Managing Director and Chief Legal Officer for Eutectics, will discuss her experience working to facilitate financing for building-scale energy improvements, including energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

Following the presentations, there will be time for general discussion so that Minnesota affordable housing developers are able to fully understand the benefits of the community solar program.
