Saint Paul has a lot to gain with a transition to a clean energy future. On May 14, Fresh Energy staff had the great opportunity to hear from local residents about the most exciting energy policy ideas.

Fresh Energy was pleased to be a part of the 21st Annual Great River Gathering at the Saint Paul RiverCentre. Presented by Saint Paul Riverfront Corporation, this annual celebration brings together citizens, artists, policy makers, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, environmentalists, elected officials, and philanthropists, all of whom share a commitment to the renaissance of Saint Paul and the Mississippi River valley.

Fresh Energy hosted an informational table where we asked people to vote for the energy solution they were most about excited about in Saint Paul. It was a great opportunity to listen and share more about the energy solutions.

People were most excited by community solar, followed by a tie between increased transit, biking, and walking, and energy efficient buildings. We learned that while there is a lot of interest and excitement around electric vehicles, people want to ensure that these electric cars are fueled by clean wind and solar energy.
