Ethan Fawley, Transportation Policy Director
Ethan joined Fresh Energy in September 2008. As the Transportation Policy director, Ethan oversees Fresh Energy’s work to advance transportation policy that reduces oil dependency and air pollution. Before joining Fresh Energy, Ethan served as a consultant for three St. Paul neighborhoods, facilitating community processes and drafting neighborhood-level plans. He was also an active volunteer with the Sierra Club’s Land Use and Transportation Committee. Ethan strongly believes you should love your work, so he’s chosen to combine his passion for non-automobile transportation and desire to help the environment in his efforts here at Fresh Energy. He considers the death of his car years ago as one of the best things that ever happened to him. Ethan is the biggest soccer fan on staff and has a lifelong goal of never missing another World Cup. He holds a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs and a B.A. in Geography, with a minor in Urban Studies from the University of Minnesota. He is currently the President of the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition and a member of the Urban Land Institute, Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals, and the American Planning Association.
