Statement on Xcel Energy’s multiyear rate case

FRE_RGB_H_LGToday, Xcel Energy filed a multiyear rate case that included a first of its kind five year option to be considered by the Public Utilities Commission. Fresh Energy Electricity Markets Director Holly Lahd released the following statement:

“This rate case is an important step toward understanding how Xcel Energy customers will pay for service over the next three to five years. With a five year timeframe under consideration for the first time, it’s even more critical that this case doesn’t put an undue burden on customer classes such as those hoping to pursue local energy options or those trying to save money by conserving energy.

As we analyze the case moving forward, we will continue to push for smart investments that modernize our grid and reflect the needs of our 21st-century energy economy.”
