Key messages

  • In 2007, the Minnesota Legislature passed the Next Generation Energy Act, which set science-based carbon pollution reduction goals to allow Minnesota to take its share of responsibility for global warming pollution.
  • Minnesota is now on a clean energy path that is creating good jobs and reducing our dependence on fossil fuels.
  • But Minnesota does not yet have a workable plan to meet our carbon pollution reduction goals.
  • We need to get Minnesota back on track.
