Take Action: Urge public energy use disclosure of Minneapolis’s biggest users

business power metersThe City of Minneapolis is considering an ordinance that will require disclosure of the amount of energy that public and large commercial buildings use. The ordinance will increase awareness and motivate building owners and tenants to invest in energy efficiency improvements that create jobs and cut carbon emissions.

The City has published a draft of the ordinance and other helpful information on its website. You may submit a comment on the ordinance until a public hearing on January 28. Supporters of the ordinance—especially building owners or tenants of commercial buildings—are also encouraged to attend the hearing in person.
