Clean Energy
“Turbine Cowboys” will ride the airwaves in April
Reality TV meets clean energy in a new Weather Channel series called “Braving the Elements.” Featuring wind turbine maintenance crews, the episode “Turbine Cowboys” will document the physical and emotional challenges of maintaining wind turbines in all kinds of weather. Other shows in the series will focus on electrical line workers who restore power after storms and ironworkers who navigate soaring steel beams in high winds, snow, and rain.
According to the American Wind Energy Association, wind now powers the equivalent of 700,000 homes in Minnesota, creating at least 2,000 jobs and providing over $6 million in property taxes and over $7 million in annual land lease payments from wind developers to land owners.

I can hardly wait for the series!!!! My son is a turbine worker, my husband is a lineman, an uncle was in the ironwork industry and my father built railways for years. I find it interesting these “workers” are celebrated in this series. I am forever proud of the hard working who daily are “Braving the Elements”. It gives me pride.
Please represent these workers as the honorable people they are…dedicated and talented. Thanks

Been in school for over a year in wind energy and still yet to climb. The show will be inspiration in my learning. Wonder what is taught in a three week course
Tip speed, trailing edge, leading edge, HAWT, VAWT, Electrical theroy.
How about the components? The different systems. Shaft alignment?
Can’t wait to see a rising force in energy on the screen in my own relaxing space.
