While we’re still getting the hang of electric vehicles in the United States, in Europe, they’re already folding them up. This week, a consortium of companies introduced a two-seat foldable electric car called the Hiriko. According to “Foldable electric car debuts in Europe” on MSNBC.com, three folded Hirikos can fit into one parking space. Intended as a vehicle for an in-city car-sharing service, its first trial will take place in Malmo, Sweden. Commercial production of the vehicle will begin in 2013.
